Adam at 12 Months

I've been noticing that my posts about Hannah outpace my posts about Adam 2 to 1. It's hard to resist when she's whirling about the place, dressing up, talking up a storm, and developing the social life any butterfly would be envious of.

But don't be fooled - my little man is no longer on the sidelines, watching Hannah take center stage. He is on the move, full of giggles and curiosity with his own precious personality coming through. This post is all about you Adam - I love you!

12 Things about Adam at 12 Months

12. He is crawling - all over the place!
11. He loves to play at the window, running his cars along the ledge and watching nature
10. He is a snuggler
9. He has 6 teeth
8. and eats everything with them
7. He babbles and sings and laughs a lot
6. especially when he's rolling around on the floor with Hannah or Daddy
5. or when you kiss his tummy
4. He just dropped his morning nap and sleeps 3 hours in the afternoon - hooray!
3. He signs "all done"
2. He occasionally waves bye-bye and says "ba ba ba ba"
1. He said "mama" last week :)

These boots were made for dancing

Cousin Carolyn sent Hannah a new box of hand-me-downs.  Hannah's goal is to pretty much wear as many pieces at once as possible.

I just thought this was hilarious - Hannah wearing pink cowboy boots and a nightgown, singing the ABC song:

(Sorry it's so short. She did a really funky move at the end of the song and I was in stitches. The camera ran out of memory. I'm beginning to understand what that guy at Best Buy was saying when he told me to ditch my old school 1GB card for a "real" -4GB- card. Too bad I was like, dude, 1 GB is huge... and I paid big money for this 5 years ago!)

Little Mommy

Hannah was playing dress-up and asked me to put a 'baby' in her tummy too.  She's the proud mommy of Mickey Mouse.
(Can you believe all those curls?!)

Happy Birthday Adam!

Adam and Grandma. Isn't her hair great? She is so hip! And I can't believe how grown-up my little man looks!

Tonight we celebrated Adam's first birthday with his grandparents on both sides. It was so much fun! I wasn't sure I'd be up to throwing a big bash with lots of friends and activities (as much as I do love that!) and I'm SO glad we kept it simple.  It was very relaxing.  I really enjoyed the time we had together, eating spaghetti and cake, talking and watching the kids play happily with Adam's new toys.

Our camera card was full because I've been taking so many videos of the kids :) so I'll post more pictures from Tom's camera later.

Hannah's Walk Down the Aisle - Part 1

At long last ... pictures and stories from Hannah's big day as flower girl in Brittany's wedding.

When Brittany showed us the dress she had chosen for Hannah to wear, we could only think one thing: Ultimate Princess Dress!  I have never seen anything that elaborate or gorgeous for a small person.  Here is Hannah after my mom fitted her for it, doing some research into princessdom.

Then we went to the mall with our Doulos friends to choose a tiara.  This store must have what we're looking for!
(That's one of Hannah's special friends from the ship - Miss Nicole!)

Hannah was a big help at the rehearsal.  Here she is handing out place markers to the wedding party.

Wedding day: Hannah checks out the fish centerpieces.  These were so cool!
(We also found the goldfish crackers at the kids' table and stuffed that cute little purse full of goldfish.  That's the secret to her being so patient and quiet during the whole service!)

Hannah's Walk Down the Aisle - Part 2

Now her walk down the aisle. At first you'll notice that she's unsure of the direction to go and starts putting petals back in her basket.  But then she gets the hang of it and heads straight for Daddy, who was sitting at the front.  Once she gets there, she realizes she still has all those petals in the basket!  She starts to put them down, one by one...

This method is faster!   (This is a short one.)

And a few last whacks to really get them all out...

Check out how Brittany's mom is cracking up! I was nervous she wouldn't see that Brittany was arriving at the back. She did great though and the rest of the ceremony was absolutely beautiful.  I'm so proud of my little girl!

I just ate a pie

I did have a little help last night, but really, I pretty much ate most of it by myself over the last 24 hours. It was cherry and from Trader Joe's and totally delicious. I started having dreams about four nights ago about pies and then I found out October is national dessert month so I decided to kick it off in style.

It didn't make me sick in fact I feel a little better so I guess that was just what Baby wanted. Anything for you, Baby!
